Malaysia Cookies Policy

Effective Date: This Cookies Policy was updated on January 26 2016 and is effective as of that date.

For a complete list of the companies which use cookies on our Site and how they use them, please access our Cookie Consent Tool This is always available at the bottom right hand corner of our Site. By using our Site, you agree to us and third party organizations using cookies in line with your cookie settings. You can use the Cookie Consent Tool to change your preferences at any time. For information about how your personal information is used, please see our Privacy Policy .

There are two types of cookies that we may use on our Sites: session and persistent. Session cookies exist only during an online session. They disappear from your Device when you close your internet browser. Persistent cookies remain on your Device after the browser has been closed. The cookies used on the Site do not identify you personally. They merely recognize your browser, unless you choose to identify yourself voluntarily. You may choose to identify yourself for any one of the following reasons: by asking the browser to remember your username and password, by responding to a promotional offer, or by personalizing a web page or requesting more information on a product or service.

We also use web beacons on our Site. Web beacons (also known as clear gifs) are used in combination with cookies to help Site operators understand how you interact with their websites. A web beacon is typically a transparent graphic image (usually 1 pixel x 1 pixel) that is placed on a site or in an email. The use of a clear gif allows the Site to measure your actions in opening the page that contains the clear gif.

Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your experience.

You can find more information about cookies at www.allaboutcookies.org.

WHAT COOKIES AND WEB BEACONS DO WE USE?

Each of the cookies we use on our Site are described in the Cookies Consent Tool available on each page of our Site. You can use the tool to change your cookies preferences at any time. We have summarised the cookie types used on our Site into the following three categories:

  1. To provide you with the service you have asked for (essential cookies)
For example, keeping you logged in as you browse multiple pages of our Site during your visit so that you are not automatically logged off the Site.
  2. To show advertisements that are more relevant to your interests (advertising cookies)
For example, advertising cookies may include cookies placed by third party advertising networks to group you with other users into interest groups and show you advertisements likely to be of interest to those groups. These cookies also help to limit the number of times that you see an advertisement as well as to help measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. The cookies remember you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organisations such as advertisers.
  3. To analyse and improve your browsing experience (analytics and customisation cookies)
For example, these cookies allow us to analyse which bits of the Site are most popular and get viewed the most and which get viewed the least, and provide us with demographic information about users of the Site (such as age, gender and interest areas, where available). We also use them to check for bugs and glitches in the Site and to remember the choices you have made such as your language or region and to enhance and personalise your experience.

The Cookie Consent Tool includes further information on the types of cookies used by us and third party organisations on our Site.

How to manage cookies used on this Site

In addition to being able to change your preferences at any time using the Cookie Consent Tool , the Help menu on the menu bar of most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to delete old cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie and how to disable cookies altogether. You can also disable or delete similar data used by browser add-ons, such as Flash cookies, by changing the add-on's settings or visiting the website of its manufacturer.

It is not technically possible for your settings to be carried with you between your browsers and devices. As such, you will need to make your preferred changes to these settings from each browser you use.
